Current sleep medicine guidelines recommend regular review of individuals using positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy. As published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine (Vol. 14, No. 10), an expert panel of 40 participants from 21 countries has provided an international consensus on the core clinical components needed for clinical review of people using CPAP therapy, which we have incorporated into our PAP Assessment program.
Our goal is to assist individuals using PAP therapy who would benefit from follow-up care. This includes patients who are experiencing problems with their current use of PAP or whose PAP requirements have changed, and those in need of equipment replacement.
Your PAP Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) Report is prepared by a sleep physician based on analysis of the data download report from your equipment, and from your responses to our comprehensive PAP questionnaire that you completed securely online using a mobile device or computer. This report is accessible only to you for download through our secure Client Portal. There is an option to provide it online to your family doctor, sleep physician or equipment provider, but only at your request and with your prior consent. If you do not have a family physician and have difficulty accessing follow up PAP care, at your request our staff of non-MD sleep professionals will use their best efforts to assist you in accessing a sleep physician in your locale or through the Ontario Telemedicine Health (OTN) Network.
